The popular two-part Silhouette Pattern-Fitting Class repeats in Oct/Nov at the Mountain Ave. Church of Christ in Tucson. Class limit – 12. RSVP by Oct 1.
From these sessions attendees can learn to fit, adjust and transfer into muslin any pattern from a selection listed in the flyer that accompanies this message. Students receive instructions for supplies and muslin preparation and then take the first 4-hour session. Instructors Rose Skelly or Karen Coyne will help students personalize the fit of their muslins with sewn-in changes, darts, etc. Students take their custom-fit muslins home from this class and construct their garments. Later, a follow-up session is held for questions, tweaking and sharing.
Patterns can be purchased directly from either instructor or from www.silhouettepattern.com. (Shipping costs incurred if purchased online.) For full views of all patterns, class application form and map to the class, click here.

Holiday Luncheon and 2010 Fabric Challenge. Join the fun as the Chapter gathers for its annual holiday luncheon at the Randolph Golf Course, 600 S. Alvernon Way in Tucson. Take part in the 5th Annual Fabric Challenge Contest with this year’s theme of Reuse, Remake, and Restyle. Opportunities to win door prizes will take place and the results of the 2011 Chapter Advisory Board elections will be announced.
Enter the Reuse/Remake/Restyle Fabric Challenge: The rules of engagement to enter the Chapter’s contest are simple. Choose any fabric or craft item in your closet, or in someone else’s closet, or a Thrift Store. Take a picture of it. Then remake or recycle that item into something newly created. That’s IT! Enter both your before-photo and remade item into the Annual Fabric Challenge by 11 am on Dec 11. All luncheon attendees will be the judges and each can submit one vote for their favorite item. The top 3 winners with the most votes will receive a Chapter Gift Certificate. Don’t miss this fun event! Watch for an application flyer later at this spot.
